What is coaching?

A qualified, professional coach works with individuals at all levels in an organization to help them gain self-awareness, clarify goals, achieve their development objectives and unlock their potential. They are not therapists of consultants, but act as a sounding board to help the individual solve their own problems.

What do coaches do?

As a confidential and supportive sounding board, Coaches ask questions, challenge assumptions, help achieve clarity, provide resources, and sometimes, with permission, provide advice. They can also help interpret 360-degree and behavioral assessments, conduct confidential interviews to help clients gain self-awareness, and establish development goals.

What is the process? 

Coaching engagements are tailored to an individual's unique needs and typically last seven to 12 months. It usually beings with assessments, goal-setting, and development planning. After the development plan is established, periodic coaching check-ins occur. The process is over when development goals are achieved or when the coach or client decides it is no longer needed.

360°FeedForward

360° Feedforward (also known as 360° Feedback) is a method of systematically collecting professional and developmental feedback. The feedback is anonymized and collected through individual interviews with managers, peers, direct reports and other internal / external stakeholders. The process also includes a self-assessment. The objective is to obtain comprehensive, balanced and actionable feedback that will optimize effectiveness, and enhance self-awareness and accountability as a leader.

EQ-i 2.0

  • A way to accurately assess strengths and blind spots: take the assessment in less than 20 minutes
  • A predictable way to measures current level of emotional and social functioning: receive feedback on your results
  • A vehicle for developing effectiveness in order to improve performance: develop a customized action plan in order to ensure you are focusing on the right development needs

DiSC

The DiSC model helps you analyze your own preferred behavioral style, and those of your team members. At its broadest, DiSC measures four aspects of personality: dominance (D), influence (i), steadiness (S), and conscientiousness (C). These are the foundational traits from the original DISC model and these expand to four quadrants, providing greater insight for specific purposes (managing others, leadership, sales, or conflict, for example). Everything DiSC measures eight scales (D, iD/Di, i, iS/Si, S, SC/CS, C, and CD/DC) as well as priorities during the assessment process.By understanding your own profile, you can manage your work so it suits your preferences. And you can help people understand their differences so they can work more effectively together, by sharing DiSC profiles within your team.

This means DiSC profiling is a useful tool to help you improve team working, recruitment and retention, customer service, and resolve interpersonal issues.

Insights

A psychometric tool based on the psychology of Carl Jung, Insights Discovery is built to help people understand themselves, understand others, and make the most of the relationships that affect them in the workplace.

Format: Insights Discovery is a 25 frame test. In each frame you must read each statement carefully. There will be four statements. You must choose the one statement that most (M) describes you in your work environment as well as the one that least (L) describes you at work. From the remaining two statements, you will select a value of 1–5: from 1 – not likely to describe me to 5 – very likely to describe me. You are not to choose the same number twice. This will be the format for all 25 statements. The evaluation takes between 10–20 minutes to complete and is completed online.

MBTI®

The purpose of the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator® (MBTI®) personality inventory is to make the theory of psychological types described by C. G. Jung understandable and useful in people's lives. The essence of the theory is that much seemingly random variation in the behavior is actually quite orderly and consistent, being due to basic differences in the ways individuals prefer to use their perception and judgment.

Inclusive Behaviors Inventory

Aperian Global's Inclusive Behaviors Inventory℠ is an online tool that allows individuals to confidentially identify strengths and areas for improvement on five key dimensions of inclusion, and to plan next steps for working more inclusively with colleagues. Participants gain awareness of personal sources of bias and levels of inclusiveness, and learn skills to build on current strengths and address key areas of development

Robyn Powell

Vice President, Head of Leadership Effectiveness

Robyn has more than 24 years of extensive experience leading teams and coaching people managers. Prior to Enspira, Robyn held a variety of senior leadership positions at Johnson & Johnson, Merck KGaA, Ortho-Clinical Diagnostics and Beckman Coulter where she led teams across a range of customer-facing disciplines, including global marketing, customer service, technical support and field service. In her role at Johnson & Johnson, she spent nine years in France overseeing high-performing teams in Europe, Middle East & Africa. Robyn’s extensive leadership experience spans individual contributors, people leaders and teams as large as 50 to a site of 200 employees. Robyn holds a coaching certificate from the University of California, Davis and a coaching certification from the International Coaching Federation (ICF). She is fluent in French, holds a B.A. degree in Communications from the University of California, San Diego and an M.B.A. degree with specialization in International Business from Pepperdine University.

Julie Weber

Director, Learning & Development

Julie is an Human Resource and Learning professional with 26 years of career experience in for-profit, non-profit, and educational sectors. Prior to Enspira, she worked in coaching, curriculum, customer service, and human resources. She has a passion for growing individuals and organizations through strategically designed coaching, learning and development opportunities. She earned a Masters degree in Leadership and Administration from Marymount University, a Masters degree in Education from North Carolina State University, a Bachelor of Arts in Human Resource Management from Auburn University, and has her professional coaching certification. Julie loves to travel the world, walk her shih-poo, Maggie, spend time with her two adult boys and her husband of 26 years.

Sara Levy

Senior Manager, Human Capital

Sara has over ten years of experience in Human Resources working within hotels as an HR Generalist to Recruiting, Employee Relations and Business Partnering at Tech companies. Prior to joining Enspira, Sara was most recently at Pinterest as an HR Business Partner supporting various teams in the Business Organization. Sara is based in the San Francisco Bay Area and enjoys trips to Lake Tahoe and the wine country with her labradoodle, Doug. Sara is often trying out new cooking recipes and loves to keep up with the latest fashion trends.
